The economy of the Indus Valley Civilization primarily depended on trade. There is evidence that they might have been able to trade all the way to Egypt. People were usually craftsman or farmer during this time mainly because of the river(s). It provided fertile soil and clay. They would trade for lumber and other goods because they did now have those resources available.
